Liberty on Freedom provides your Wi-Fi connection, but we do not provide routers.
Your apartment has an Ethernet port in the wall that provides the internet connection. But that connection by itself isn’t enough to get Wi-Fi for your devices like your phone, laptop, or tablet. To create a Wi-Fi network in your apartment, you’ll need your own router.
Think of the router as the device that takes the internet signal from the Ethernet port and turns it into WiFi that all your devices can connect to wirelessly. Without a router, you’d only be able to connect to the internet if your device has an Ethernet cable — which most phones and many laptops don’t.
Please note: Not everyone will need to bring a router. We encourage you to coordinate with your roommates to determine if one of you will need to provide a router for your unit, as Liberty on Freedom does not supply routers.
Additionally, some units may have Google Fiber ports installed. Please be aware that Google Fiber is an optional, extra service that you would need to set up and pay for separately if you choose to use it. We are not affiliated with Google Fiber and cannot provide any assistance with their service or equipment. If you choose to use Google Fiber, we ask that you provide your own router for that service.
Please also note that you cannot opt out of the community communication fee, as it is a required part of your lease agreement.
